Ideal for chemical storage facilities
Without limiting the use and fire-resistance of the doors, the liquid retention barrier for the fire-resistant overhead door provides a combined solution. As the first manufacturer to test this
construction on both properties in collaboration with Efectis, the fire-resistance and the fluid density are guaranteed. This unique solution provides a secure and certified application for companies, which must comply with the Dutch Publication Series on Dangerous Substances (PGS 15). This unique solution can also be applied in Europe. With which we are well ahead in Europe to meet up national standards which apply for international companies which produces and/or tore dangerous substances. According to the European certification , for fire doors, we have reached the highest rating, the EI1. This classification is only awarded after an actual fire test according to the EN1634-1. By testing the liquid retention barrier together with the fire-resistant overhead door by Efectis/TNO, it is demonstrated and agreed that the fire-resistance remains unaffected. In addition, it is demonstrated during the five tests (the longest of which lasted 240 minutes) that the liquid density of the liquid retention barrier is retained.
The test results show that the liquid leakage is 0.15 litres per metre per hour (0.15L/m1/uur). The liquid retention barrier is already available to a height of 1,000 mm. With this solution, Protec Industrial Doors, has a unique solution to combine the liquid retention barrier with the fire door. This includes the requirement that there must be a provision in these spaces against the leakage of harmful substances into the environment as well as the prevention of fire penetration via liquids. At the moment, this solution is unique and is actually tested first by Efectis.
