City Municipal Theatre Amsterdam is situated in the city centre of Amsterdam at the Leidseplein. The theatre, built in 1894, has 2 auditoriums, the Grand Hall and the Rabo Hall. Due to its location in the city centre of Amsterdam, it is important to take proper sound insulating measures in order to avoid sound pollution. The sound-insulating measures are for dimming the neighbourhood noise from the city centre traffic during shows, but also to avoid that neighbours and other passers-by do not experience any noise annoyance from the inside. Due to the limited space, a complete truck lift has been built on the outside of the building. Sound-insulating doors have been installed at the loading bay on every floor. Moreover, various other sound-absorbing doors have been supplied for in the theatre.
