Rijkstraat 8 in The Hague
Rijnstraat 8, located next to the Central Station in The Hague, has been rebuilt. During this renovation, the property has been adapted for various Ministries and government departments. Previously, the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment was based here. Since July 2017 it has become the headquarters of: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BZ) and Infrastructure and Environment (IenM), the headquarters of the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), the Central Organisation for asylum seekers (COA) and the Return and Departure Service (DT & V).
This project was a so-called “Public Private Collaboration” between the Dutch Government and the Contractor: Poortcentraal. Poortcentraal is a consortium composed of: BAM, ISS and Architects from the Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). The gross floor area is 80,000 m2, which includes 4,400 work stations.
Within the building, topics like meetings, networking, consultations and collaborations are central. In addition, as for many other government agencies, there was a high security requirement on this project. To enable us to provide added value to both the security of the property and the other topics mentioned above, Protec Industrial Doors has supplied burglar-proof doors, which were entirely project-developed.
Burglar-proof doors at Rijkskantoor Rijnstraat 8
Protec Industrial Doors offers doors that have been developed to meet any of your project requirements. Just like at the Rijnstraat 8 project. These overhead doors are located on the outside of the building. Using advanced drive technology and innovative solutions, there are virtually no visible mechanical or electrical components. Not only that: these doors can also be adapted to the aesthetic desires of the architect.
Due to the very high security demands of the government, and the aesthetic desires of the architect, the aesthetic and technical adjustments on these doors contributes to the level of protection and the overall appearance of the building.
