The Theater aan de Parade building is located in the heart of Den Bosch city center. The realization of the new building therefore faced limited spatial possibilities due to its urban environment. Protec Industrial Doors contributed to the project with various door solutions to make the design possible and to create a unique appearance.
The Theater has two large theatre halls, the Pleinzaal and the Casinozaal. These halls require access for instruments, stage sets, etc., for various productions and performances.
Pleinzaal
For this hall, a loading dock was created, allowing an 18-meter truck to reverse inside. The entrance to the loading dock is sealed with two sound-insulating doors that meet aesthetic requirements. These two doors consist of a sound-insulating sliding door and a sound-insulating round-the-corner sliding door.
Once inside, a lift raises the truck 6 meters. After the lift and passing through the sound-insulating sectional doors, equipment can be brought into the theatre hall.
Casinozaal
For the Casinozaal, a different solution was designed for loading and unloading goods. Due to limited space, trucks are slid inside the building. This means the 19.900-meter wide and 5000 mm high sound-insulating sliding door is first opened. After these sliding door is open, the platform can slide the trucks inside, and the sliding door is then closed again. Once the sound-insulating sliding door is closed, the façade is fully in line again, concealing the loading and unloading from the beautiful square. Furthermore, the sound-insulating doors prevent for noise pollution during operations.
Additionally, the theater is equipped with five fire-resistant and acoustic overhead doors to prevent disturbance from backstage activities during performances and to ensure sound is not transferred to the foyers.
